Strengthening cooperation between Tatarstan and UAE

In the framework of working visit in Dubai, today the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met the chairman of Emaar Properties Mr. Mohamed Alabbar. The head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina also attended the meeting.

The company Emaar Properties (UAE) is engaged in construction of shopping centers, international class hotels, malls, office centers.  The company built the world's tallest tower Burj Khalifa and is the owner and operator of the world's largest shopping mall "The Dubai Mall".

The company has been in the market for about 19 years, it has representative offices in 11 countries (India, Morocco and other countries), headquartered in Dubai. The company carries out projects based on a public-private partnership, with about 30% of the company owned by the state and 70% – by shareholders. In total, Emaar Properties employs about 6,000 people.

During the meeting prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed. 

In particular, Mohamed Alabbar told about the history of the company, its development prospects.  Emaar Properties uses high potential of Dubai as a leading city in business, tourism, fashion industry for development and opportunities to join rapidly growing markets in a large number of countries around the world. The company implements its development strategy on business growth and constructions of "Smart cities of the future".

Rustam Minnikhanov invited the Chairman of Emaar Properties to visit the Republic of Tatarstan.

The preliminary arrangement on reciprocal visit of the Republic of Tatarstan by Mohamed Alabbar in 2017 to explore the possibilities of cooperation concerning development is achieved. The project of the program is currently under consideration in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper in Dubai, standing at 829.8 m (with 163 floors above ground), the tallest structure in the world. The shape of the building resembles a stalagmite. "Dubai Tower" was projected as a "city within a city" with its own lawns, boulevards and parks. The total cost of the building is estimated at around 1,5 billion dollars. It is also a key element of a new business center in Dubai. Hotel, apartments, offices and shopping centers are located within the complex.
