The Republic of Cuba is one of the most interesting foreign economic partners of Tatarstan. This was announced by the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation Emilio Lozada García.

Taliya Minullina presented the investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and told about investment policy of the region to the delegation of Cuba.

Tatarstan is interested in expanding the nomenclature and volumes of trade with Cuba. Significant progress in this work has been achieved in 2016: bilateral foreign trade turnover between the parties reached $100,6 million. For comparison, the figure of 2015 was $11,3 million.

It is worth noting that Cuba is one of the most stable and promising markets for the products of the Kazan helicopter plant and the Chelny auto-giant "KAMAZ".

Other promising areas of cooperation include collaboration in the areas of health, sports and tourism.

In his turn, Emilio Lozada García has pointed out that relations between Tatarstan and Cuba are developing today. He recalled that in 1996, during a really tough period for Cuba, the Republic of Tatarstan established its trade economic representation on the Liberty Island. "We will never forget it. This event became one of the most important in the history of our relations", - the Ambassador believes.
