Taliya Minullina visited one of the most prominent economic events of the World

On January 10, as designated by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina for the second year in a row represents the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan at the "Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017" at the north-west of India.

The summit is the largest regional forum in India, involving the participation of leading businessmen, governmental authorities, specialists and experts from more than 110 countries. In the framework of the event, the participants share experience, find new business partners and ways of attracting investments, and work out the ways of interaction in the sphere of economy.

23 delegations are taking part in the work of the Summit "Vibrant Gujarat", which will last until Friday. President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyattare, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, Prime Minister of Portugal António Costa, Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Deputy Minister of Poland Piotr Gliński, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Economy of Japan Hiroshige Seko are among guests of Gandhinagar.

The Russian delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, included high-ranking officials of Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Emergency Situations, top-managers of more than 10 companies, including "Rosatom", "Roscosmos", "Rostec", "Novatek", "Rosneft", "Sibur", "Shvabe" as well as representatives of Russian regions.

After welcoming the participants of the Summit, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said: "Over the last two and a half years, we have worked relentlessly to realize India’s potential, and to improve its economy. I am delighted to share that we have become the sixth largest manufacturing country in the world, rising from ninth largest previously. There has been substantial improvement in key macro-economic indicators like GDP growth, inflation, foreign investments. India has become the fastest growing major economy in the world. Despite the global slowdown, India is a bright spot in the global economy. Creating an enabling environment for business, and attracting investments, is my top priority."

The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency provided a detailed overview of unique investment climate of Tatarstan, recognized the best in Russia, prospective niches for capital investment, objects of investment infrastructure.

Turning to business community of India and other countries, participating in the Summit, Taliya Minullina pointed out:  

"The relations between Tatarstan and India rely on strong traditions of friendship and mutual respect, develop in the spirit of strategic partnership. I would like to note that in recent years, the leading export partner of Tatarstan is India.

It is India who is one of the key customers of Kazan Helicopter Plant. Also, there is an assembly production of "KAMAZ" trucks in India. At the same time, we have far more opportunities for economic cooperation. Tatarstan is interested in promotion of products of other enterprises: ships, gas transporting equipment, compressors, tires, compressors, medical instruments, machine-building and petrochemical production. In turn, India could increase supplies of their goods, including tea, coffee, spices, textiles. Tatarstan and India have good opportunities for cooperation in the sphere of agriculture, healthcare, sport, tourism, humanitarian and cultural exchanges. There is a number of investment projects is in the pipeline for the moment.

In the framework of the forum the International trading exhibition, seminars and B2B meetings take place. For example, one of the sites "Virtual reality" presents historical and cultural values of India to the quests of the Summit.

Gujarat is one of the most economically developed states of India. Percentage of gross domestic product, produced in the territory of the state is 7.14% of the total GDP of India. Gujarat is leading in production of refined petroleum products, cotton, diamond processing as well as in the sphere of shipbuilding, automotive industry and defense industry in India.

The state is a major manufacturer of sponge iron. Transport infrastructure of the state is one of the most developed in India. 17 airports, including 1 international, are functioning on the territory of Gujarat; railway network is well-developed. On the coast of the state there are 47 ports operating, including Kandla Port, Port of Navlakhi, Port of Magdalla, Port Pipavav and others.
