New Belorussian project

Since 2016, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency has been closely cooperating with the Belorussian company "STiM" producing equipment and materials for road markings. The company operates plants in Brest (the Republic of Belarus), Poland and the Smolensk region of Russia. The company's annual turnover is about 2,96 billion rubles.

In spring 2016, during the meeting of the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina and representatives of "STiM" company, the main issues of investment in Tatarstan were discussed: location of production, tax preferences and human resource policies.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency offered several sites to locate the Belorussian production in Zelenodolsky, Pestrechinsky, Tyulyachinsky, Rybno-Slobodsky Districts, there was a choice between Yelabuga and Naberezhnye Chelny as well. After detailed discussion, Special Economic Zone "Alabuga" was selected. The project was represented at the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan in June 2017 and was approved by the leadership of the republic.

New project of "STiM - Alabuga" LLC involves the production of glass beads with 7 900 tones annual turnover. The total amount of investment in the project will amount at 222,2 million rubles. The new production will create 44 jobs and is planned to be launched in the 4th quarter of 2019.

"Retro-reflective glass beads are one of the most cost-effective means of providing safe driving conditions. Only the road-marking with glass beads is visible at night. No glass beads - no night visibility. When the light of the headlights reaches the mark with glass beads, the road-marking starts to shine making it easier to see in the darkness. The combination of glass beads and marking materials present retro-reflective system. We hope, such a "safe" and necessary in daily life in our latitude project will soon launch its production in Tatarstan", - Taliya Minullina shared.
